Check It Out! ~ Nick Sterling

Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Kesha....Unfortunately, THAT is what most teen-to-20 something people are listening to. However, that is also the reason that when you see someone who's 20 years old and into true rock n' roll, it is just so freaking cool. And that someone is the one and only Nick Sterling.

Nick, who began playing guitar when he was 7, released his first album, Ten, when he was (how fitting) 10. Also, how many 10 year olds can say that they've performed with Alice Cooper? However, Alice Cooper isn't the only big time musician that Nick has performed with. He's also performed with Aerosmith, Kid Rock, Cheap Trick, Cinderella, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Gary Hoey, Peter Frampton, Gavin Degraw, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Jackyl, and Guns N' Roses. Talk about bragging rights....

In 2005, he released his second record, Life Goes On. Sterling not only played all of the instruments on the album, but also performed the vocals and recorded it himself.

His latest album, Invisible, was released in 2010. Invisible has, I think, taken Nick's music in a slightly different direction. It's still rock, but you can tell that there were a lot of other styles that influenced him as well.

As of 2009, Nick is Former Skid Row front man Sebastian Bach's new guitarist. Nick first performed with Baz in December '09 when they opened for Alice Cooper.

  1. Nick is a fine guitarist but he has no imagination or innovation as a songwriter or composer. Part of that comes from being under the influence of a guy named Ken Davis whose claim to fame is being the Mr. French for the boy band, The Moffatts. The plus for Nick is that he is seeing the world, the downside is he is seeing it with a washed up, perpetual 12 year old, Sebastian Bach.
