Steven Adler Announces New Band

Former Guns N' Roses drummer, Steven Adler, has recently announced that he has formed a new band, Adler. The lineup includes Adler's Appetite guitarist Lonny Paul and frontman Jacob Bunton (Lynam, Mars Electric).
"I love the music that we're creating!" states Adler. "I haven't been this excited about my band since the GNR days. Jacob is exactly the singer I have been searching for. He has an amazing range and is a great writer and frontman. Lonny is an amazing guitarist and songwriter and the vibe is amazing!"
The band is currently working on their debut album with producers Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Foreigner) and Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Steel Panther, The Donna's). The album will feature guest appearances from Adler's former Guns N' Roses bandmate Slash as well as Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 (formerly of Marilyn Manson). "I'm so excited for everyone to hear this record!" states Adler.
Steven Adler, along with Slash, Duff McKagan, Axl Rose, and Izzy Stradlin will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Later GnR members Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed will also be inducted at the ceremony in Cleveland next month.

Check out Prosevere!

I would like to introduce to you, Prosevere. With Gary Segars (vocals/guitar), Eric Ashe (guitar/vocals), Rocky Griggs (drums), and Matt Riley (bass), the band has been together since late 2006. Since then, they have toured with bands such as Papa Roach, Godsmack, Sevendust, and Adelitas Way. I recently spoke with Gary, and here is what he had to say about Prosevere's music.

Front Paige Metal News: How would you best describe your music?

Gary Segars: Our music is straight up, edgy rock n' roll. We sing about different topics than I feel a lot of today's radio bands touch on: fighting against the odds, putting yourself first, appreciating life, and all we've been through to this point. It's a different flavor- a more upbeat, raw, classic rock feel. Somewhere between Sevendust and Foo Fighters.

FPMN: What has it been like to have the support of bands like Korn, Godsmack, and Papa Roach? How have their audiences been reacting to your music?

Gary: It's an amazing opportunity to be able to play with such bigger bands. Their experience is definitely knowledge that we've put forth in trying to build this ourselves. They've helped us with our stage show, things to do on the road. All sorts of things. Their crowds have always really been into what we're doing. We're different than what they do and how they sound, and our stage shows are really different. I think it keeps us in peoples' heads. Helps them remember what we do.

FPMN: What are your thoughts on rock n' roll's place in the music industry today? What mark do you hope to leave on the music world?

Gary: Any industry guy out there will tell you that rock n' roll is dead, and I suppose the sales and radio numbers will back that up. But we refuse to believe that because the concert numbers are still good. The problem has been that there are too many of the same damn bands out there. It's difficult to tell the difference between a lot of these radio rock groups, and it's watered down the listening radio audience. There are still a ton of rock music fans, and they're still out there waiting to hear what's going to bring them back. Foo Fighters have started the revolution of bringing back real rock n' roll. We hope to be the next band to start it up. We want our music to be timeless.

FPMN: What would you like my readers to know about Prosevere?

Gary: One thing we're really proud of is the fact that we've still got the same band members that we've had since the very beginning. Same four dudes continuing to grow together towards something that we feel is much bigger than ourselves. This band never wants to be a novelty group. The goal is to write timeless music that people will want to listen to in 20, 30, 40 years.

FPMN: What is coming up next for the band?

Gary: We're going to be touring, at least regionally, all summer long. We'll have a few showcases for a few select labels. You never know what the future holds, but we're going to keep on keepin' on like we've always done. Rock n' roll is all we know, and we'll keep doing it as long as it makes us feel like it does.

D.R.U.G.S. Concert Review

I'm baaack! (FIR pun intended) I know that I have been MIA the last few weeks, but I've had a lot going on. FPMN has some cool stuff coming up though that you won't want to miss. If you haven't already connected with us on our Twitter and FB pages (links are located below), make sure you do so that you'll be updated on our new projects (Details will be announced later in the month.)
Anyway, this past Thursday I went to see Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows at The Loft in Poughkeepsie, NY. I can honestly say that it's one of the best shows I've seen recently. The show started with two locals bands after which Our Last Night took the stage. The band immediately got the crowd into the show by playing songs like "Elephants" and "Across The Ocean". And by "into the show" I mean a full on mosh pit and crowd surfers!
After Our Last Night's set, D.R.U.G.S. finally took the stage. Despite the fact that it was the band's final show after a 7 week tour, they all had great energy onstage. The crowd was equally energetic: screams so loud that my friend and I JUST got our hearing back and tons of crowd surfers- Yup, I got kicked in the head. All in the name of rock n' roll right?
So, D.R.U.G.S. played a 10 song set including their singles, "If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is", "Mr. Owl Ate My Metal Worm", and "Sex Life". Here are some pictures that my friend Georgina took.

Check It Out! ~ Four Nights Gone

While still a relatively new band, Staten Island's own Four Nights Gone is already on their way to making a name for themselves. Citing hard rock bands such as Breaking Benjamin and Chevelle as some of their influences, they combine their own style with that of their inspirations. After working with producer Ethan Bill, they digitally released their debut EP Crash and Burn on January 20th, 2012. I recently spoke with the band's lead guitarist Imran Xhelili about what's going on with him and the rest of the band.

Front Paige Metal News: For people who haven't heard of Four Nights Gone, why don't you introduce the band. How did you guys get your start?

Imran: Hey everyone! So, we're four guys. We have Damian LaRocco (vocals/rhythm guitar), Alex Basovisky (bass/backing vocals), and last but not least Steven Romano (drums). So, Damian and Steven had been together from a previous band and found me through some mutual friends. I went to high school with Alex, and when we parted ways with our old bassist he came into the picture. We all had similar tastes in music and similar goals in mind and just connected. From there, everything is history.

FPMN: Who are your biggest influences?

Imran: We all have some various influences but definitely Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and Chevelle. There's so much music out there in this digital age that almost anything and everything seeps into our writing.

FPMN: How do you guys describe your style?

Imran: I'd say we're a good mix of hard rock and alternative rock.

FPMN: What are your goals for the band?

Imran: Sign to either an indie or major label, tour, release more material, and get people to hear our music. Playing some bigger shows in NYC at venues like Gramercy Theater and Webster Hall, there's such a thriving scene in the city compared to Staten Island. If we could make a living off playing and touring, that would be our dream.

FPMN: What is coming up next for Four Nights Gone?

Imran: We're working on a music video for "My Last Call". We have a few big shows coming up in NYC, and then we plan to release a single or two and tour this summer.

"My Last Call":

Royal Bliss Releases Brand New Album

Salt Lake City based rock band Royal Bliss has been writing and recording for years now having released a total of eight studio albums including, most recently, Waiting Out The Storm. The band (Neal Middleton- Lead Vocals/ Taylor Richards- Guitar/ Jake Smith- Drums/ Dwayne Crawford- Bass) is currently on tour with Bobaflex. I recently spoke with Neal about the band's new album; here is what he had to say.

Front Paige Metal News: I know that you just released your latest album "Waiting Out The Storm". What kind of reception has it been getting from fans?

Neal: It has been amazing; we broke Top 10 on iTunes release day which was huge for us. The reviews on iTunes have been the best we have had. The support from our fan base has been huge as well, with so many of the band's followers re-posting the release link. So far, we are blown away with the response, and we are extremely happy that the fans feel the same way as us about the record.

FPMN: What was your main inspiration when writing this record? How do you feel this is different from projects that you guys have done in the past?

Neal: It was a rough couple years. We were released from Capitol Records and parted ways with our old managers. They didn't believe in the direction we were going with our songs. It was difficult, but we had to stand up for what we believed in, and we did not want to let down the fans we already had. So, there is a lot of angst against the industry on this record. I also became a father while writing these songs. That changed my life in a major way. Kids seem to have that effect on you. I also dealt with death for really the first time so there was a lot of influence from that, as well. We have lost many friends over the years to drugs and alcohol; either they are dead, or they are walking dead. Also, my family has had to deal with some cancer and other strange illnesses. It puts life in perspective. This record is just a much more mature record. Life has changed us.

FPMN: How has your tour with Bobaflex been going? How has it been performing songs from the new record?

Neal: We love the Bobaflex guys! They are an awesome band and are fun as hell to party with. We both have the same passion for putting on the best show we possibly can. It's killer being on the road with them. Playing the new songs is always a good time. It's always good to see an audience respond and concept to a song they may have never heard or recently grew to love. We worked hard on these songs, and we love to share them.

FPMN: What's coming up next for the band?

Neal: We just plan on touring as much as possible and hope to get on some festivals. We would really like to get overseas, as well. As long as we are able to tour, play music, and pay the bills, we will be happy.

"Crazy"
